Gera.Sourcing

Pricing

One fee: 5% of the order value. Here is exactly what it covers.

The fee

Our fee is 5% of the order value.

No subscription. No monthly retainer. No tier you have to grow into.
The fee appears as its own line on your quotation, so you can see what
you are paying us and what the goods cost, separately.

Why we publish the rate: a sourcing partner whose fee
is invisible is a sourcing partner you cannot audit. If we are worth the
5%, you should be able to check that from the document in front of you.

Included in the 5%

  • Supplier screening and shortlisting
  • Price and term negotiation
  • Sampling coordination and approval tracking
  • Production follow-up against the schedule
  • Pre-shipment inspection coordination
  • Consolidation of multiple suppliers into one shipment
  • Document set preparation and consistency check
  • One point of contact, in your timezone where possible

Paid at cost

Things that are not the 5%.

These are real costs that exist on any import, and we pass them through
rather than inflate the fee to cover them. Each one appears as its own
line so you can see where the money went.

Goods

The factory’s unit price times quantity. This is the largest number
on any quotation and it is not ours.

Sampling & tooling

Sample production and, where the product needs it, mould or tooling
cost. Quoted per project because it depends entirely on the product.

Freight & insurance

Quoted per shipment by weight, volume and route. We will show you
the freight quote we received rather than a blended number.

Inspection

Where third-party inspection is used, the inspector’s fee. We do not
mark this up.

Testing & certification

Only where your product and your destination actually require it.
We tell you what applies before production, not after.

Duties & taxes

Charged by your destination country. We can quote a landed estimate
if you tell us the destination and the HS classification.

On the invoice

What a quotation looks like.

Structure first, figures second — the figures depend on your product.
This is the layout you will receive.

Line Basis Amount
Goods Unit price × quantity Per project
Service fee 5% of goods value 5%
Sampling / tooling Quoted separately Per project
Freight & insurance By weight, volume, route Per shipment
Inspection Third-party fee, passed through At cost
Testing / certification Only if your product requires it At cost

Two things we are still settling: whether the 5% is
folded into the unit price or always shown as a separate line, and whether
very small sample orders carry a small fixed handling charge instead of a
percentage. We would rather flag that here than state a policy we have not
finished. If either matters for your order, ask us directly and we will
give you a straight answer.

Questions about money.

Is the 5% calculated before or after freight?

On the goods value, not on freight or on duties. Freight and duties are
pass-through costs and charging a percentage on them would make our fee
grow for no extra work.

Is there a minimum order value?

Not from us. Real minimums come from the factory and depend on the
product — we cannot state one number that would be true across categories.
Send us the product and we will give you the actual factory minimum.

When do I pay?

Payment milestones are agreed in writing before anything moves: normally
a deposit at order confirmation and the balance against shipping documents.
The exact split is set per order and stated on your schedule.

Do you take a commission from the factory as well?

No. We are paid by you, on the invoice, at the published rate. A partner
paid by both sides cannot represent either one properly.

Can I see the factory’s own price?

You see the unit price you are buying at, with our service fee shown
as its own line, so the part of the cost that is ours is never hidden.
We do not itemise the factory’s internal price, for the same reason any
distributor does not. If knowing the factory price is essential to your
decision, say so at the start — we would rather tell you honestly that
we are not the right partner for that.

Send the product and the quantity. You receive a quotation with the fee
shown separately, and the reasoning behind the supplier we chose.
